Не, она немного по-другому типу. Децентрализованная, с ориентацией на
ветки разработок и частые слияния веток.

Я рекомендую svn. Благо и под Windows она нормальная есть, и с
кодировками в commit messages у нее хорошо.
git на платформе Windows работает неэффективно, CVS - уже устарел и
обладает массой неисправимых недостатков.
