Оно больше умеет.
Другое дело, что в 90% случаев дополнительный оракловский
функционал оказывается невостребованным.
Кроме того - оракле удобно для крупной конторы, чтобы не
устраивать "зверинец" из БД.
Т. е. есть выбор и это хорошо :)
