Опасность всегда есть при использовании закрытого ПО, от этого никуда не
деться, увы :(
А уж если учесть что в том самом dropbox еще и ваши данные лежат :)
Думаю с параноей можно справиться если запускать dropbox от другого
пользователя, а ~/Dropbox пробрасывать через mount bind.
