ближайшее время будет доступна бета-версия 5.0 Desktop
Основные изменения:
* NetworkManager по умолчанию, но при этом поднимающий интерфейс,
сконфигурированный на этапе установки до логина пользователя
* восстановлена работоспособность установки по NFS

Ошибка настолько смешная, что не придумал, на что её вешать:
в файле /etc/net/ifaces/default/options обнаружилась строчка
DHCP_ARGS=-m 1
Догадайтесь, что выдаёт service network restart! :)
