А проблема-то серьезнее!
КДЕ4, индикатор раскладок в режиме "только индикатор", т.е. КДЕ не
вмешивается в поведение клавиатуры, настройка клавиатуры выглядит так:
Section "InputClass"

Клавиатура самостоятельно самопроизвольно переключается с раскладки на
раскладку!
Если в КДЕ включить "индикатор раскладки", то работает без проблем. За
исключением того, что нельзя выбрать самодельную раскладку (ru_kpdldot).
Ну и вообще гнусное извращение -- портить системные настройки каким-то DE.
Что-то в новых иксах сломано, раз клавиатура ведет себя с такими
трудностями.
