Что-то сравнительная таблица возможностей плагина и автономной версии
не впечатляет ...
Гораздо интереснее WST - http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/wst/main.php
- именно он и включен в Eclipse IDE for Java Developers, который
предлагают скачать с eclipse.org
А разработка на Java без XML - такого не бывает :) Языку Java
альтернативы в рамках JVM имеются и неплохие, а вот реальных
альтернатив XML нет.
