Так неужто сложно сделать детект наличия framebuffer и в случае если он
есть - запускать его, потом пытаться запустить vesa и если не получится
- запускать уже ускоренный драйвер.
Например можно такой фокус провести:
fbdev
fglrx
vesa
fbdev должен работать везде, где есть /dev/fb0 (и соответтвенно
fbresolution отдаёт правду)
