thunderbird при старте "с нуля" не видит модулей, установленных из rpm (та же
проблема, как и у firefox была, и, думаю, есть) - они не в каталоге
пользователя. Как быть?

ТАм проблема, нужно немного скрипты поправить.
Вообще, видел бы ты их, как они делаются...
rpm для мозиллы очень чужероден.
quick fix - удаляй плагины и ставь по новой.

Я и ставлю. Только, помнится, это уже обсуждалось относительно firefox - то,
что смысл этих плагинов в RPM, если они не работают.

Зачем? ;) Те, что ставлю я - работают. :)
Не работают они, как известно, в случае, если установлены в систему из .rpm, и
пользователь запускает приложение.

А про те, что ставил ты - никто и не говорит.

Я знаю только один такой плагин под Thunderbird - у него мантейнер напутал с
правами. Бага-блокер висит.
Не работают они - если были обновлены. Внутренняя система Thunderbird такова,
что он не замечает обновления, и разумеется не ставит уже установленный плагин.
Чтобы это обойти и нужно удалить .rpm и потом поставить обратно.
