Вообще склонен согласиться.
Я в амароке ли конквероре открываю на сакладке Файлы папку
/media/cdrecorder/ - а там пусто! Какого чёрта?
Они должны завязываться на HAL & D-BUS и оповещать их о каждой открытой
папке? так они ведь не только на Линуксе работают, а еще и на BSD. А
Опера - еще и на Windows и MacOS(впрочем это близко к BSD? ладно, тогда
добросим Солярис и разные мобильники)
Уже из-за пробле с переносимостью идея удивляет.
