В mysql chroot'изация всегда была сделана из рук вон плохо, и реакция от
upstream на мои патчи была невразумительной. Как следствие, у меня есть
основание полагать, что в этой области там не все сделано правильно, вне
зависимости от того, что написано в документации.

Зовут как обычно - bttv. Лежит в kernel-image-std-{up,smp}-* (он
собирается вместе с ядром). Версия сейчас 0.7.107 (обновлялась с
bytesex.org).

После перехода с ядра kernel24-up-2.4.20-alt7 из Мастера на
kernel-image-std-up-2.4.22-alt4 из Сизифа пропала возможность
пользоваться криптованными loop-девайсами.
В /etc/fstab имеем:
/dev/sda2 /mnt/flash/p2 auto noauto,user,loop,rw,encryption=blowfish,keybits=256
В модулях:
loop 8376 0 (autoclean)
blowfish 8880 0 (unused)
(модули ядра cryptoloop и cryptoapi, бывшие в составе 2.4.20, отсутствуют)
[root@dizzy flash]# mount p2
Password:
The cipher does not exist, or a cipher module needs to be loaded into the kernel
ioctl: LOOP_SET_STATUS: Invalid argument

В 2.4.22 ядре другое CryptoAPI... ;-(
Собственно мы сейчас пытаемся вернуть на место старое. Ждите новой
сборки ядра.
