есть пачка вопросов по дескотопу. работаю в icewm.

1. не запускается abiword, пишет в окошеке с кнопочкой ОК: 
"AbiWord could not load the following font or fontset from the X Window
System display server:
[-*-Times New Roman-regular-r-*-*-*-0-*-*-*-*-*-*]

This error could be the result of an incomplete AbiSuite installation,
an incompatibility with your X Window System display server, or a problem 
communication with a remote font server

Often this error is the result of invoking AbiWord directly instead of
through its wrapper shell script. The script dynamically adds the
AbiSuite fonr directory to your X Window System display server font path
before running the executable"

Load "type1" в конфиге XF86Config-4 прописано, шрифты вроде есть...

# rpm -qa | grep -i type 
freetype2-2.0.6-alt1
freetype-1.3.1-ipl11mdk
cyrillic-Type1-fonts-1.0-ipl5

2. Gnumeric не рисует диаграмки и не открывает их из .xls
на консоль Х-вую пишет:

** WARNING **: 'Nothing matched the requirements.' : while attempting to
activate a graphing component. 
oaf-run-query "repo_ids.has('IDL:GNOME/Gnumeric/Graph_v1/Manager:1.0')"
should return a value.

Guppi есть.

3. Shift+F* не работает в X-ах в mc из-под icewm.

4. xmms кушает память активно. когда съедает -- тачка виснет. 
особенности: плей-лист на 4000 песен, качает с соседней тачки через http,
файлы mp3 и ogg. при попытках ограничить память через улимит -- дохнет
через некоторое время, даже если не играет...

5. понадобилось пдф посмотреть. что посоветуете? xpdf непропечатал русские
символы.

дистриб -- сизифус, трехдневной давности.

заранее признателен за помощь

...может стОит оо установить вместо abiword'a, gnumerica?

...выругавшись в терминал на шрифты Type 3?

Попробуйте gv (он, правда, не обрабатывает гиперссылки); если он
тоже не покажет, можно скачать Acrobat Reader для Linux с
adobe.com.

Какая версия abi?
Установите val-ttf и  abisuite-koi8

Установите самые свежие версии Guppi и gnumeric из Sisyphus

Возьмите новый.

Вместо abi -- точно стоит
