И не должен - он и есть софтварный рейд по сути.

Есть карты от 3Ware (стоят от $200 примерно) - это действительно аппаратный
рейд, драйвер для линукса - в ядре, писан производителем.
Судя по отзывам списка рассылки ataraid-list - это лучший райд для ide и
практически единственный реально хардварный. Но дорогой. Сам я его не
пробовал. Думаю перебиваться софтварным рейдом.
