попробуйте перед устновкой сделать rm -rf ~/.kde
должно помочь. и попробуйте создать другого пользователя и запустить у него kde.
в конце концов удалите и поставьте заново весь ^kde
если грабли будут повторяться даже после переустановки kcontrol или kde и rm -rf ~/.kde
то тогда вам кроме багзиллы kde и strace никто не поможет.
