Есть стандартный X-овый буфер обмена PRIMARY, есть стандартный X-овый буфер
обмена CLIPBOARD. Это не "буфер window manager" и "буфер X", просто в X есть
несколько (теоретически - сколько угодно) буферов обмена.
С буферами обмена (и x2x) есть следующие проблемы:
1. Типы данных, хранимых в буферах, плохо специфицированы. Фактически, все
нарушают ICCCM.
2. x2x, кажется (в эту часть я не лазил с тех пор, как получил проект), сломан в
части как раз типов данных.
Бага давно известна: http://x2x.dottedmag.net/trac/do/ticket/7 , но у меня никак
не доходят руки её починить (хотя бы потому, что x2x-ом я последний раз
пользовался полтора года назад, увы и ах для меня).
