Наверное, то, что в проклятом, кривом, глючном и всеми пинаемом дебиане
testing у меня при апгрейде мускуль никогда не ломал базы, и я
понадеялся, что в прекрасном и безглючном альте, делаемом непогрешимыми
великими умами, при апгрейде с одной стабильной ветки на другую будет
так же? :)
Паршивость же, мной отмеченная, следует из того, что СУБД в нештатной
ситуации ломает базу, вместо того, чтобы быстро упасть, ничего не
натворив (зачем ей журнал, в конце концов?). Attitude нехороший.

Файлить непонятно что: баг-то не воспроизводится. Какой-то race, только
вот фиг отловишь.
