Сидюк лучше повесить на subfs (поставить модуль kernel-modules-subfs
для вашего ядра).
Фрагмент /etc/fstab с прописанным cdrom-ом.
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom subfs
fs=cdfss,noexec,nodev,nosuid,ro 0 0
Параметры монтирования добавить или убрать по вкусу.
Если хочется ту же систему автомонтирования, что и в компакте -
ставьте hal-fstab-sync, и больше ничего делать не надо.
Иначе для монтирования всяких сменных носителей можно пользоваться
средствами встроенными например в KDE. Эта система автоматически
монтирует внешние накопители, прям как оффтопик.
Если же хочется более общего решения - тогда надо поставить и
настроить на автозапуск сервисы haldaemon (пакет hal), messagebus
(пакет dbus), а также установить пакеты ivman и pmount. После этого
надо поставить ivman-launch на автозапуск командой:
ln -sf /usr/bin/ivman-launch ~/.xsession.d/
И перезапустить иксы (или вручную запустить ivman-launch из командной строки).
Смонтированные флешки будут лежать в /media. Отмонтировать их придется
ручками, через команду pumount /media/<имя директории куда
замонтировано>.
