Втянул в систему kde5, загрузился, потыкался в настройки. Среди настроек
параметров логина потыркал в темы, поставил галочку логина для своего
юзера, потом убрал галочку.
В результате вход в систему стал невозможен совсем, пока не попляшешь с
бубном. Потому что в sddm в списке пользователей оказало НОЛЬ, то есть
ни одного пользователя. Соответственно, выбрать пользователя и
залогиниться нельзя.
Причина банальна: в настройки sddm попадает дефолтное значение
[Users]
MaximumUid=65000
MinimumUid=1000
При этом у нас всегда раньше юзеры нумеровались с 500. В новых системах
юзеры нумеруются с 1000? Или никто кде5 через настройки настраивать не
пытался? В любом случае, для совместимости с уже установленными
системами, надо сдвинуть дефолт на 500.

Нет, но у большинства других давно уже так.

Местоположение конфига уже исправлял. :-)
