Здравствуйте
Завтра в Сизиф приедет новый GNOME 49, в котором не работает gdm:

Шансов на оперативное исправление нет, поэтому предлагается перейти временно на lightdm.
Для этого переключитесь в tty3 сочетанием клавиш ctrl+alt+F3 и авторизуйтесь root'ом:
apt-get update
apt-get install lightdm-gtk-greeter
systemctl disable --now gdm
systemctl enable --now lightdm
и вернитесь в tty1 сочетанием клавиш ctrl+alt+F1.
При этом перестанет работать блокировка экрана в GNOME. Но хоть так.
