В бранч _обязательно_ должны попадать все багфиксы. Это да. А вот
только багфиксы... Только багфиксы попадают в updates к конкретным
выпускам.
ИМХО, у нас просто бранчи используются не по назначению. Сейчас,
когда на каждом бранче выпускается только один Х.У релиз, они
избыточны. Достаточно просто заморозить Сизиф на пол года, как уже
было, выпустить релизы, идти дальше.
Бранч имеет смысл когда он используется для выпуска семейства
релизов с малыми изменениями и исправленными ошибками в коде,
юзабилити, наборе ПО пока в Сизифе накапливается некое качественное
изменение на системном уровне дающее повод для смены циферки в
"первом ряду". Тогда делаем новый бранч, готовим новый основной
релиз, отлаживаем безболезненный dist-upgrade с прежнего бранча и
забываем о нем. Развиваем следующий бранч...
Но, команде решать куда идти...
