После последнего обновления у всех юзеров темы курсоров слетели в
дефолтовый. Попытался изменить тему через "параметры системы", при
нажатии кнопки "применить" конфигуратор падает с предложением послать
отчёт о баге :(
В kdm тема, которая стояла ранее, сохранилась, проблема только в kde4.
Куда копать?

курсоры вынесли в отдельный пакет:
$ rpmquery --lastchange kde4base-workspace-core
* Thu Nov 12 2009 Sergey V Turchin <zerg@altlinux.org> 4.3.3-alt2
- split wallpapers and cursors to separate packages (ALT#21123)
- fix initial setup of kdm user icon
так что доустановка kde4base-workspace-cursors должна помочь.
