Только что на пустом месте словил падение файловой системы:

После ребута в runlevel 1 и xfs_repair куча потеряных файлов/каталогов
на /dev/sda5 (он же home). К счастью ничего важного не пропало. Железо
вроде не перегретое, винты в порядке. Обновлялся дней 10 назад, ядро
2.6.18-wks-smp-alt2.
Если бы не root-tail, который логи на экран выводит, то еще долго бы не
заметил проблемы :( Вобщем, будьте бдительны.
