насколько я помню, в fat метка хранится в двух местах -- по какому-то
определенному смещению в начале (скорее даже в первом секторе) раздела и
в виде файла со специальным атрибутом в корне раздела. будучи студентом
писал аналог досовской label :)
в принципе, если очень надо -- можно hex-editor'ом все сделать.... о! а
в dosemu/freedos такого функционала случайно нет? все ж не винда :)
