В связи с апгрейдом железа до AMD64 x2 в полный рост встал вопрос о
запуске системы на новой платформе. Хотел было заглянуть на wiki, но
там только заставка Апача осталась в живых :(
Суть вопроса такая:
подключил свои винты с системой к новой машине, все просто магическим
образом загрузилось и заработало (после единственных правок в /etc/fstab
и /etc/lilo.conf). Обновил ядро до версии 2.6.14-wks26-smp-alt2. Все
работает, но периодически процесс kprefetchd жрет 100% ресурса
процессора (выдержка из top):
182 root 39 19 0 0 0 R 99.9 0.0 77:40.58 kprefetchd

Это почему так?
Как вообще рекомендуют переходить на новую архитектуру? Какие пакеты
желательно установить пересобранными? В каком состоянии сейчас x86_64
ветка репозитария? Никаких особых фишек 64битной архитектуры не
требуется, т.к. машина домашняя.
