Я использовал 1-й вариант и теперь, на мой взгляд, работает правильно. В
preferences прописались выбранные обои для рабочего стола. И теперь,
если тема в default.theme не имеет собственной картинки, показывается из
preferences, если имеет - показывает собственную. Спасибо за информацию
:-) .
