Бр-р-р!!! <censored /> IceWMCP в последний раз, когда я на него смотрел,
плевать хотел на /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/icewm/preferences (там в
закомментированном виде содержатся значения всех параметров по
умолчанию, вкомпилированные в icewm).
Т.е. после запуска IceWMCP настройки icewm будут заменены на настройки
IceWMCP по умолчанию.
Изучать python на примере инсталлятора IceWMCP, не совместимого с
идеологией упаковки в RPM, у меня нет никакого желания.

Так и сделал, всё работает (icewm-1.2.23-alt1):

Есть вариант 3: посмотреть на http://icecc.sourceforge.net/ По крайней
мере, автор не увлекается Python без лишней нужды. Из минусов - когда я
в последний раз смотрел на icecc сотоварищи, довести их до Segmentation
Fault удавалось довольно успешно и часто.
