Хотелось бы знать, насколько возможно _сейчас_ использование hal и
ivman с pmount
из vserver'ов (поставить SYS_MOUNT не предлагать).
AFAIK после RTFS hal_hotplug.c я понял что он использует unix сокет
для связи с hald.
(это очень хорошо, можно просто поменять путь к сокету внутрь vserver)
(то есть запускать hald из vserver, hal_hotplug из обычного сервера).
С Pmount можно решить вопрос тем же способом что и с reboot'ом из под
vserver'а:
то есть написать pmountd, который будет находится в root server'е и
принимать коннекты с одного из виртуальных серверов (то есть его unix
socket будет внутри одного из vserver).
При этом, кончено, возникают проблемы с правами доступа, но их можно
решить, запретив все /dev/hd* и другие несекьюрные устройства.
Теперь о сетевых дисках (NFS): нужно полностью от них отказатся в
университетской версии linux'а и использовать GFS или OpenAFS (первое
надо покопать, второе - допакетить). Или оставить их монтирование
через autofs (как это сделано сейчас).
PS: Моя тут имеет план по построению дистрибутива linux'а для
университетов.
