Отвечаю сам себе, вдруг ещё кому понадобится.
Пересобрал себе свежего gnochm, теже проблемы, что и у
kchmviewer - не все ссылки кажет. Единственным вариантом
оказался archmage, с запусканием в режиме веб сервера. После
этого в galeon/firefox всё читается как надо.
Непонятно почему результаты разные. gnochm и archmage используют
(почти) одинаковую pychm. Отображение через libgtkhtml2 идёт
как и в galeon (наверно). В общем не дружим мы пока с chm.
