Ну это-то всего лишь означает, что у вас с ALSA всё в порядке :)
gstreamer - это же по сути просто мультимедийный стрелочник, чтобы типа
Write Once - Play Everywhere :) В GNOME 2.10 регулятор громкости и эти
самые привязки клавиш работают через gstreamer. Соответственно, если с
gstreamer что-то не так - регулятор отваливается. А beep/xine/mplayer
используют собственные механизмы абстрагирования от звукового сервера,
поэтому им на gstreamer глубоко положить.
Честно говоря, у меня идеи на предмет чего покрутить кончились.
