А xfce умеет запускаться с предустановленым размером рабочего стола? По
аналогии с Гномом. Там можно выбрать и запомнить на будущее желаемый
размер экрана в пикселах и частоту вертикальной развертки.
Иначе, получаем вечную проблемку с "упрощенным" конфигом Иксорга. Каждый
раз перед началом работы нужно сперва обучить xfce размеру экрана.
