Добрый день.
Думал неделю и вчера решился: обновился из сизифа. Теперь иксов нет.
Чипсет i815, драйвер грузится, но потом всё неизменно виснет, причём
жёстко, magic-key и CtrlAltBackspace не работают, машина даже не пингуется.
Что делал: убирал из xorg.conf все строки Load, читал логи (там нет ошибок).
Чего удалось добиться: иногда иксы грузятся и работают аж до выбора WM,
но виснет потом, причём в случайные моменты времени. Иногда экран
чистый, иногда заполнен мусором, иногда виден курсор мыши (неподвижный),
иногда нет.
Есть ли способ запустить какой-нибудь XFdrake? Или он ещё не "заточен"
под xorg.conf?
Грустно без иксов-то...

Вы внимательно читали рассылку за последние недели? Какой ВМ обычно
запускался? Сделали "танцы с бубном" нужные именно вашему ВМ?

Я думал я один такой везучий..... :)
Была такая проблема на том же чипсете, вылечилось добавлением всех опций Xaa*
в конфиг и последовательное удаление :) (см. в аттаче). За дополнительной
информацией ==> в /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/Options и др.

вариант довольно сырой но рабочий, лучше доточить самостоятельно

Спасибо огромное, при попытке удалить любую опцию оно висло, в разные
моменты в разное время, но висло всегда. Единственное, что я сделал в
прилагавшемся конфиге - подключил к мыши колесо и включил аппаратный
курсор (закомментировал sw_cursor).
Теперь интерфейс заметно тормозит по сравнению с вчерашним утром.
