Добрый день.
Поставил последние samba3 и swat из apt. Локально на машине заходит
на http://localhost:901, но удаленно говорит, что не может
приконнектиться (то же самое говорит telnet). Firewall'а нет, в
/etc/xinet.d/swat закомментированы строки
# only_from = 127.0.0.1
# disable = yes
Кто-нибудь уже встречался с подобным?

only_from = 0.0.0.0

Огромное спасибо, помогло! А можно в двух словах, почему без этой
строчки не работает? Для других сервисов писать ее не требуется...

конечно. Это вполне обьяснимая ситуация - надо не комментировать их, а
устанавливать в те значения, которые вам нужны.
например only_from = ваша_сеть
disable=no
