Hello sisyphus,
Имеется 2.6.6-alt1 самосборное, но отличия от альтовского только в
приложенном supermount и подправленном типе процессора (PIII
Coppermine).
Все работает, supermount в том числе. Но наблюдается такая картина:
supermount помимо прочего настроен на USB Card reader, сидящий на
/dev/sdb. Если в процессе работы монтировалась флэшка (работает
нормально, монтируется/читается/пишется), то при выключении компа
доходит до стадии размонтирования устройств, ругается, что
/mnt/flash занят, потом валится много Oops, сообщения вида
"Disabling IRQ 18", "IRQ 18: nobody cares" и т.п. Кончается все "DMA
timeout" на HPT370 и ресетом обоих каналов контроллера. После этого
процесс замирает, комп не выключается. Alt-SysRq-B помогает.
Это еще у кого-нить воспроизводится?

А чем automount не угодил? Supermount - известная кривулька...

Первый требует размонтирования устройства, второй - нет. Хотя,
конечно, это больше CD касается.
