Да, disk указывается если есть желание указать некоторые нестандартные
параметры диска. Но всё равно как же без boot?

Попробуйте провернуть аналогичный фокус с lilo.
p.s. и при разбитии диска не забывайте клоцать на пимпочку "активный"
для самого первого раздела на каждом диске.
