Имеется система
Sisyphus
kernel 2.4.20-alt (самосборный-самоконфигуренный из 2.4.20-alt после rpm
-bp)
motherboard Abit BP6 + Dual Celeron
IDE controller HPT366
HDD Barracuda V -- 120 Gb
XFS filesystem
При подключении второго винта на HPT366 (по одному мастеру на один шлейф)
при копировании с/на этот винт большого объемы информации (весь сизиф,
40 Гб видео и т.п.)
с большой вероятностью система впадает в ступор.
Выглядит так: идет копирование (с помощью MidnightCommander, выделение
группы каталогов
с помощью Insert), бежит прогресс. Вдруг через 1-3-5 минут прогресс
замирает, система вроде живет,
но ни одно приложение больше не запускается, переключение в консоль
работает, но обратно уже
не возвращается, в консоли залогиниться не дает. В логи ничего
подозрительного не падает.
Если копировать не через MC, а через cp -R то вероятность зависнуть
практически нулевая. От
марки второго винта не зависит, копирование производит root.
Это куда копать надо? Явление не критическое, но иногда очень неприятное.
