Таки - да!
[root@bob sysconfig]# cat /etc/sysconfig/installkernel
#INITRD_GENERATOR=make-initrd
#MKINITRD=/usr/sbin/mkinitrd-make-initrd
#INITRD_AUTOUPDATE=all
Убрал ремарки по образу installkernel.rpmnew:
[root@bob sysconfig]# cat /etc/sysconfig/installkernel.rpmnew
INITRD_GENERATOR=make-initrd
MKINITRD=/usr/sbin/mkinitrd-make-initrd
#INITRD_AUTOUPDATE=all
Все заработало!
