А какой прогноз?
Просто на пару дней притормозить обновления до следующей сборки или
что-то серьезное и имеет смысл ставить на пакет hold и ждать в рассылке
сообщения о починке?

Я уже нашёл проблему и chromium-70.0.3538.77-alt1 уже на пути в сизиф [1].
Он был бы уже там, но к сожалению вылезли проблемы с i586, которые уже
скорее правило чем исключение.
Я отпишу сюда, когда исправленная сборка попадёт в сизиф.
