Сходу не вспомню -- скорее всего, это из-за наличия поддержки
NFSv4, который теперь по умолчанию. Попробуйте глянуть на
http://search.altlinux.org и, видимо, придётся укрутить параметры
монтирования на клиенте до nfsvers=3 (как сделать, тоже сейчас
не соображу, но хоть так подскажу).

Это как раз alsa.
В p7 ещё был kernel-modules-alsa-ltsp-client к соотв. ядру.

По идее, да.

Для старого железа лучшим был 4.0 -- начиная с p5 и по
нарастающей дальше пошли апстримные регрессии по поддержке
древних видеокарт.
PS: на днях пришлось убрать содержимое
http://ftp.altlinux.org/pub/people/mike/iso/terminal/
в офлайновый бэкап -- если понадобятся беты, пишите.
PPS: по-хорошему, найти бы нового майнтейнера пакета
ltsp и заняться всем этим поплотней до новой беты...
