SCSIADDGUI - HELP This program allows to add SCSI devices like scanners to a running system with just a mouse-click. The main options are: - Scan for devices: tries to find all devices attached to the selected SCSI-bus. - Add device: adds the selected device to the system configuration , if possible. - Remove device: removes the selected device from the system configuration, if possible. Selecting bus and device: Host: this usually refers to the SCSI adapter cards on your system; the first one is Host 0, the second Host 1 and so on. If you have only one card, keep the default "0". Channel: specifies the bus-no. of a host; some cards supply more than one bus; if you have one of these cards, may be you have to change the default "0" (probably you won't). If you set those two values you may scan the specified bus for attached devices. Id: every device connected to a SCSI bus is identfied by it's Id-no. Older cards support 8 devices, corresponding to Id 0-7 (the card itself included; in most cases - but not always! - the card's Id is 7), newer cards support 16 devices (Id 0-15). You will need to set the Id of the device you want to add or remove. Lun: some devices support multiple Luns (=LogicalUnitNumbers), like CD drives with more than one disk. If you have something like that you will have to set this value. I've heard that there are devices, like RAID arrays, with up to 256 Luns (may be even more). If you don't know what I'm talking about, the default "0" will be just right for you.
