Приветствую.
Что-то проблемы чем дальше, тем больше... Когда-то карточка работала быстро,
а теперь... В последнее время стало совсем плохо. Стоит у меня сейчас 4 ядра.
В списке версии NVidia и соответствующие им ядра (или, наоборот :-) ):
173.14.25 - 2.6.32-std-def-alt1
173.14.25 - 2.6.32-std-def-alt9
173.14.22 - 2.6.30-std-def-alt15
173.14.18 - 2.6.27-ovz-smp-alt7
Стоит, вообще-то, 5.1 (почти свежий), но ядра 2.6.32 и соответствующие им
NVidia - Сизиф. Есть flash-игрушка (могу ссылку дать). flash в Мозилле и
так-то тормозит, но тут всё совсем плохо. C первыми тремя парами прорисовка
постоянно меняющихся элементов идёт рывками. С 2.6.27, хотябы, плавно. Это
регрессия в новых ядрах, в обновлённом драйвере NVidia, или везде ?
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (с гипертредингом)
VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5500] (rev a1)

PS: может из 4.0 откуда-нибудь 2.6.18 вернуть с тем драйвером, что там был...
PPS: А, может, зря 2.6.18 забросили ? Может, восстановить его для школьных
проектов следует, для слабой техники ? Уж там-то, на слабых компьютерах, список
оборудования должен перекрываться и восемнадцатым ядром...
