Обсуждалось, выбор был между поддержкой процессоров без PAE
(первые Pentium, ранние Centrino, а также C3 и, кажется, C7)
-- и серверным железом. Решили, что в 32-битной сборке лучше
поддержать старые 32-битные процессоры, потому как большими
объёмами памяти всё равно обычно заведуют современные 64-битные.
Исключением были разве что интеловские переходные xeon'ы, ради
заметного парка которых некоторые и пересобирали себе с PAE.
