Одна из причин почему там есть ath_pci (пришлось "возродить" madwifi-hal).

У меня имеющиеся AR5007EG (2 штуки в разных машинах) с ath5k вешают систему
"намертво".

Теоретически с ath5k многое должно работать, но увы работает далеко не все
заявленное.
