Утверждения такого рода требуется сопровождать аргументацией.
Моя версия устройства ОС такова:
можно рассматривать имена сетевых интерфейсов в одном ряду с именами
других устройств; с некоторых пор их всех определяет udev, который
можно воспринимать как первичный настраиваемый источник имён.
