Одна из двух фич этой простенькой поделки в ddrescue есть -- это
заполнение (а не пропуск, как в dd) непрочтённых областей.
А вторая -- чтение здоровенными блоками до возникновения ошибки, затем
чтение маленькими до успешного чтения, затем -- опять большими и т. д?
Эта фича ускорила мне дамп относительно рабочего DeathStar многократно.
Если в ddrescue это есть, проект можно закрывать :). Если нет --
положите. Глядишь, кто-то воспользуется :).
