По адресу ftp://beta.altlinux.ru/desktop/beta-20090219/ доступна
бета-версия ALT Linux 5 Desktop (строго говоря, она должна оказаться
доступна в течение часа).
Основные изменения:
* установщик с боковой панелью (по-моему она поистине ужасна)
* загрузчик в установленной системе настраивается на язык установки (по
крайней мере когда он русский)
* незначительные изменения в наборе устанавливаемых пакетов (+kde4-digikam
+kde4-ktorrent -evince)
* новый модуль альтератора: alterator-updates, позволяющий настроить
автоматическое обновление системы из заданного репозитория. Кроме
обычного списка зеркал, возможно обновление с сервера в локальной сети,
анонсирующего обновления по zeroconf. Серверную часть этой
функциональности предоставляет пакет alterator-mirror (в Сизифе и 5.0)
Сервер на 5.9 с alterator-mirror можно получить, установив альфа-версию
5.0 Office Server отсюда:
