Выйдет.
Конечно, диалог выбора девайса в http://localhost:631/admin,
мягко говоря, затуманивающий (минус cups'у).
Но, как учил Йода, source -- основа GNU world.
настоящий джедай должен чувстворовать поток source,
входящий в его браузер с http://localhost:631.
Use the source в firefox через ctrl+U.
И ищите OPTION VALUE, начинающуюся с hp:
что-то наподобие
<OPTION VALUE="hp:/usb/DeskJet_845C?serial=CNxxxxxxx|HP DeskJet 845C" >
HP DeskJet 845C USB CNxxxxxxx HPLIP (HP DeskJet 845C)</OPTION>
