я залил к себе в git пакетик xorg-x11-drv-intel-modesetting, попробуй с
ним, правда там есть один нюанс - на Modeline'ы оно не реагирует, все
режимы > 1024x768 нужно переключать через xrandr --output VGA|LVDS --mode
<xresxyres>. Также необходимо выставить Virtual на максимально возможное
разрешение (см.

PS С этим драйвером начали хоть как-то работать doom3/quake4 (который,
еще правда сегфолтится при загрузке уровня).
