Это значит что нет модуля ядра для видюхи и(или) драйвера для X.
Какой драйвер используется?

хм... а в lsmod видно этот самый fglrx ?
ну или попробуйте modprobe <модуль> чего скажет.

Если установлены последние module-init-tools, может помочь, хотя с ядром wks я
не пробовал:
