Мотивированные аргументы, плиз. У меня один такой аргумент есть
(задолбало видеть >полугодовой давности GNOME в различных дистрибутивах
Debian, Mandriva)

Попробуйте apt-get install gnome-sisyphus-default, некоторым помогает,
и вообще, это предполагается штатным способом :) Пакеты для x86_64 все
вроде собраны, damir@ на этом как-то даже сидит.
