На этой страничке перечислены _некоторые_ альтернативы. Причем, там не
исчерпывающий список достойных плееров. Например, я сейчас разбираюсь с
Exaile (некий микс идей и частично кода из Listen и QuodLibet).
Давайте не будем это рассматривать как "списание в помойку". xmms фактически
_мертвый_ проект. Ему есть достойные и намного более функциональные
альтернативы. Он тянет за собой GTK1, от которого следует избавлять (и нужно
юыло это делать даже не позавчера).

На KDE тесно завязан только Amarok (что кстати не является препятствием для
его использования и теми, кто пользуется WM'ами попроще).
