Раньше мне, например, приходилось закрывать порты dictd при помощи
iptables, потому как он не умел биндиться только к одному из адресов
сервера.
Упростилось ли использование сервиса в моем случае?
Думаю, ответ очевиден.
В вашем случае, соглашусь, ответ будет не таким...
Но существует ли абсолютная истина? :)
Все таки, мне кажется, что в данном случае, обсуждается
применение сервиса именно на сервере, и вариант нескольких адресов
более распространен. Для локального же применения все осталось незаметно,
и тут авторы постарались...
Думаю, вам вполне по силам было провести такой анализ ...
Но все в прошлом, а опыт совместными усилиями мы наработали ...
